‘Pinning and pooping’ — 5 links moms will appreciate

I was talking with local Postpartum Doula Ruth Clarke the other day and she mentioned her get-away-from-the-kids-for-five-minutes strategy dubbed “pinning and pooping.” I immediately knew it was a blog post in the making. How often do we just want five minutes of quiet, to scroll Facebook or Pinterest, text a friend sit quietly? The answer — so often. But sometimes, the only place to take that five minute break is in the bathroom.

So, if you find yourself with five minutes of silence, or hiding from your kids, check out these laugh-worthy pins and links:

#1 Pinterest Fails: We all know Pinterest is a sort of fantasy world. Sometimes that shark cake or the no-sew pillow just isn’t going to work out.

#2 Kiddo selfies that will make you smile (even my 8-month-old has perfected this, scary!)

#3 This advertisement featuring a surfing elephant. Does it get any better?

#4 How true is this meme? (Answer: very, hence this post about hiding from your kids)

#5 And for those of you who ever or are still breastfeeding, this gem of a cartoon.
